Story: Bay of Plenty region

West and east populations, 2013

The Bay of Plenty falls into two demographic regions – west and east. People in the west are typically older, better off, and Pākehā. The east is typically younger, less well off and Māori. This table of smaller settlements demonstrates that there are many local variations.
