Story: Arcade, computer and video games

Luna Park, Auckland, 1928

Coin-operated arcade games were among the attractions at Auckland's Luna Park, alongside the roller coaster, log flume and other thrilling rides. Just where the arcades were located is unclear. They may have been in the Oriental-style building which appears almost half-way through this rare silent film footage. Luna Park opened in December 1926, but it was not profitable and closed in February 1931.
