Waikato district halls (1st of 2)

Most rural communities in the Waikato had a hall by the late 1950s. Many were built just before the First World War, or in the 10 years after the war when cars made transport easier. In the early 1950s there was another burst of building as the government gave a subsidy for war memorial halls.
