Top five species, 1970 and 1999–2000

These two pie graphs show how the main types of fish caught have changed over 30 years. In 1970 the top five fish species by weight were all coastal species. In 1999–2000 the five fish with the highest allowable catch (quota) were mainly deepwater species.
