New Zealand Tablet, 1873–1971

The national Catholic newspaper, the New Zealand Tablet, was founded by Bishop Moran in 1873. Both its content and design changed significantly over the years. This display shows how the magazine's masthead evolved between 1874 and 1971. The Tablet ceased publication in 1996, its place taken by other Catholic magazines such as NZ Catholic and Tui Motu.
