Farmers’ catalogue

Farmers’ catalogue

The cover of the Farmers’ Trading Company’s 1925 catalogue featured illustrations of a farmer, a farm, a factory, and the store’s Auckland branch – encouraging readers to link the city to the country. Travel was largely expensive and impractical for rural people at the time, and many purchases were made through mail-order catalogues.
