David Hay & Son of Montpellier Nursery were Auckland’s pre-eminent nurserymen from 1855 to 1933. They were the first to import radiata pine seed into New Zealand and were responsible for the introduction of many varieties of fruit trees. In the early 1900s they offered more than 2,000 plant varieties for sale.
