‘Garden at East Tamaki’

‘Garden at East Tamaki’

Albin Martin, one of New Zealand’s settler artists, established a farm at East Tāmaki, Auckland, in the 1850s. His painting of a garden, with its tall poplar trees, lawns and flower beds, depicts a scene resembling Britain or Europe much more than colonial New Zealand.
