Native animals of New Zealand

This cover is from the second edition of Native animals of New Zealand, by Arthur William Baden Powell, which was published in 1951. The book (first published in 1947) was both authoritative and easy to read. It sold 140,000 copies, and was found in homes and schools around New Zealand. Powell, an expert on living and fossil molluscs, was a conchologist and paleontologist at Auckland Museum from 1929 to 1963.
