
This painting shows (from left to right) Waikato (Ngāpuhi chief), Hongi Hika (Ngāpuhi chief) and Thomas Kendall (a missionary) in London in 1820. Waikato, Hongi Hika and Kendall all worked on a compilation of a Māori grammar.
