Story: Mātauranga hangarau – information technology

Te Manu Ao

Te Manu Ao

The Māori Academic Network across Universities in Aotearoa has the acronym Manu Ao. Its name plays on the proverb, Ko te manu kai i te miro, nōna te ngahere, ko te manu kai i te mātauranga, nōna te ao – the bird (manu) that eats the miro berry, has the forest, the bird that eats of knowledge, has the whole world (ao).
