Morven Hills cookhouse

Morven Hills cookhouse

The cookhouse at Morven Hills Station in Central Otago was built in the early 1870s – about 130 years before artist Peter Brown painted it. At shearing time over 100 men would have been fed here. One of the chimneys was for a bread oven; the other was for general cooking.
