New fabrics from wool

Video file

New uses for wool, and new fabrics, are being developed at the Canensis wool research laboratory at Lincoln. A new manufacturing method produces stretchable, warm garments, as seen here. A liquid crystal polymer (Vectram) mixed with wool is also being used to make light, comfortable, stab-resistant and flame-resistant vests for prison warders.
