Poster advertising Ian Scott exhibition, 1978

This poster advertises an exhibition of recent paintings by Ian Scott in Auckland in 1978. At that stage Scott was exploring the lattice shape, with rectangular grids placed at a diagonal. He came to this style following a period in the 1960s when his work focused on depictions of young women, often dressed in mini-skirts and presented in bright colours in a suburban environment. After this abstract period he returned to figurative elements and used screen printing to comment on pictorial icons of New Zealand.
