Westoe, Rangitīkei

Image
Westoe, Rangitīkei

Westoe in the Rangitīkei was designed by Charles Tringham and completed in 1874. In the irregular manner of the Italianate style, Tringham positioned the tower to the left of the building to create an asymmetrical facade. The dwelling was built for the politician William Fox, who also painted this watercolour of his new home in 1872, before its completion.
