Te Waka Huia perform their whakaeke (entrance) at the 1996 Aotearoa Traditional Māori Performing Arts Festival. The accompanying popular tune (from the film The lion king) is one of the most recognisable in modern kapa haka competition. This whakaeke includes a taiaha routine.
