Story: Housing

A sustainable house

Image
A sustainable house

Since the early 2000s there has been increased emphasis on building houses that are sustainable. In the New Zealand context this has usually meant dwellings that are more energy-efficient and warmer. This house, under construction in 2007 at Waimauku (near Auckland), is being clad with Australian-made Hebel bricks. These are made of aerated concrete and have high insulation qualities.
