Sustainable housing developments

Housing developments in the 21st century are likely to encompass ever more sustainable elements. Some of these will arise from new technological developments – such as improved solar-powered devices – but others will be inspired by how things were done in the past. This town house development in the Auckland satellite town of Flat Bush were inspired by 20th century garden city planning ideas, where dwellings were situated in park-like settings and footpaths were sited away from busy streets.
