Story: Softball and baseball

Softball and baseball diamonds

  • Softball

  • Baseball

This diagram shows the dimensions for softball and baseball diamonds and the positions of the players. The baseball diamond and outfield areas are considerably larger than for softball. Overarm pitching and the harder ball used in baseball mean that it is generally hit further than in softball.
