This carving of Apanui Ringamutu, the founding ancestor of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, is in Te Hono ki Hawaiki, the marae at The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. It was carved by a team under the direction of the well-known Te Whānau-ā-Apanui artist Cliff Whiting.
