Feminists for Life was founded in 1978. At first it was strongly feminist, arguing that easy abortion suited men and allowed the disadvantages facing pregnant women and mothers to be ignored. Over time, the group became more socially conservative, eventually becoming a conservative Christian pressure group. From 1984 it was known as Women for Life, and then the Family Education Network.
