Moehau

Moehau, in the north of the Coromandel Peninsula, is a sacred mountain to the Marutūahu people. Its full name is Te Moengahau-o-Tamatekapua – the windy sleeping place of Tamatekapua, the Te Arawa chief and steersman who had a strong association with the mountain.
