Dredging, Ōhinemuri River

Image
A dredge on a river.

Photographed around 1915, this drainage dredge near Paeroa is clearing drains to prevent the Ōhinemuri River flooding. Without such maintenance, drainage channels block up and are unable to rapidly carry away flood waters.
