Story: Air crashes

This report from Wellington’s Evening Post of 9 August 1948 announces the loss of a National Airways Corporation freight plane – the first of two major disasters suffered by the airline that year. Influenced in part by such crashes, a government commission recommended restructuring civil aviation in New Zealand.
