Story: Sculpture and installation art

Henry Moore exhibition, Auckland, 1956

The Weekly News published a collection of photographs of visitors to the ground-breaking exhibition of sculptures and art works by Henry Moore at the Auckland City Art Gallery in 1956, suggesting that most were scornful or baffled. Some attendees, however, were appreciative, and the event influenced a number of New Zealand sculptors.
