Zoom into see details of this kaitaka ngore-ngore or bobble-decorated cloak. It is likely to have been given to George Grey during his first term as governor of New Zealand, from 1845 to 1854. The harakeke (flax) foundation has been ornamented with tiny wool bobbles and bird feathers.
