This image of the 1905–6 All Blacks doing a rather ragged haka during the test against Scotland was one of the few from that tour of the United Kingdom and became well known. The tour itself captured the public imagination in New Zealand because the team was so successful. However, sports photography was still in its infancy and at this stage images were not transmitted by telegraph, the way the New Zealand public first heard about the games.
