Story: Divorce and separation

Husband gets the children

When a Wairarapa vicar and his wife divorced in 1903 the details were reported by newspapers across New Zealand. This illustration of the people involved in the trial appeared in the New Zealand Freelance in September that year. Florence Earee admitted committing adultery, and Wyndham Earee was awarded custody of their two children. Although Florence asked for custody of one of the children, there appears to have been little argument over the matter, with alimony getting more attention.
