Story: Māori prophetic movements – ngā poropiti

Pōtangaroa flag

This flag is thought to be Pāora Te Pōtangaroa's flag which he used as a prophecy in the late 1800s. It flies here with a number of other flags at the opening of the Maunga Moria Church at Homewood, near Castlepoint, around 1900. The church was for the followers of the Church of the Seven Rules of Jehovah.
