Story: Methodist Church

Sunday school certificate

This attractive Diploma of Honour, ringed by images of native birds and plants, was awarded to Edna McNabb in 1934. These certificates were gained by pupils of Richmond Methodist Sunday School, near Nelson, who gained a first-class record. Each year for the next five years a new sticker was added to mark Edna's progress. The second year emphasised faith, the third courage, the fourth self-control, the fifth enthusiasm, and the sixth was the final, or consecration, year.
