Story: City planning

Charles Reade's flyer

This flyer promotes the 1911 lecture tour of journalist and town-planning advocate Charles Reade. Early garden-city and town-planning promoters were eager to show the public that slumlike conditions existed in New Zealand cities, and that town planning was required to relieve the problem.
