Sniffing out intruders

Border control and biosecurity are serious issues affecting management of the oceans. With the aid of computer technology, Christchurch AgResearch staff have developed an ‘artificial nose’. In 2003 tests were under way to see if it could sniff out biological pests in shipping containers.
