Story: Penguins

Happy Feet departs

'Happy Feet', an emperor penguin who strayed off course to New Zealand in 2011, became an international celebrity. After an extended stay in Wellington Zoo, where he recovered from sickness, he was released into the Southern Ocean north of Campbell Island. This television news item reported on his departure. However, the tracking device attached to the penguin stopped transmitting signals a week after his release.
