Story: New Zealand culture overseas

New Zealand at Frankfurt

This is an extract from a video featuring films and performances at the New Zealand pavilion during the 2012 Frankfurt Book Fair. The first reading, accompanied by animation, is from Maurice Gee's novel Going west (1993), while the second dramatised reading is from Alan Duff's novel Once were warriors (1990). As guest of honour in 2012, New Zealand had the opportunity to showcase not just writing but other creative arts including acting, film-making and design.
