First aired in 1966, Country calendar was still screening in 2022, making it the longest-running programme on New Zealand television. With its staple of human stories which gently and sympathetically unfold in the New Zealand countryside, Country calendar kept the ideal of New Zealand's rural identity alive for many city dwellers.
