This film shows the Dominion Pipe Band Championships of 1960. The City of Wellington Pipe Band, A-grade champions in 1960, dominated competition from 1955 to 1990, winning 27 titles in those years. The film also shows the mixed band from Palmerston North, indicating that by 1960 many top-quality pipe bands included women musicians.
