Story: Cartooning

The opening of the Cartoon Archive, 1992

This television coverage shows the 1992 opening of the Cartoon Archive at the Alexander Turnbull Library in Wellington. The event was attended by many of New Zealand's most eminent cartoonists, along with politicians they had caricatured – including Prime Minister Jim Bolger, who jokingly complained that cartoonists drew his face as a 'prize-winning King Country potato'.
