New Zealand Grand Prix, 1961

This newsreel clip shows the 1961 New Zealand Grand Prix at Ardmore aerodrome, in Auckland. A crowd of 60,000 watched world champion Jack Brabham battle local hero Bruce McLaren for the chequered flag. Other famous drivers competing included Britain's Stirling Moss and New Zealander Denis Hulme, who finished fifth.
