Story: Cook Islanders

Performing at Pasifika, 2015

One opportunity for Cook Islanders in New Zealand to celebrate and display their culture is at Auckland’s Pasifika Festival, New Zealand's largest Pacific Islands community event. Started in 1993, the yearly festival is now attended by over 140,000 people, with hundreds of performers from all over the Pacific. This clip, from Tagata Pasifika, Television New Zealand’s Polynesian programme, features a group of Cook Islanders performing a traditional dance at Pasifika 2015.
