Story: Peacekeeping

Anzac peacekeeping

Members of the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) and police returned to East Timor as part of an international stabilisation force in 2006, when the country was threatened by renewed unrest. When NZDF personnel were withdrawn in 2012, the East Timorese government requested civilian assistance with customs and education programmes. In this footage, Flight Lieutenant Paul Aitken discusses the close coordination between New Zealand and Australian personnel.
