Sir Peter Buck's investiture

In 1949 Māori leader, politician and scholar Sir Peter Buck (Te Rangi Hīroa) was knighted at Government House in Wellington. Of all the honours he received, it was the one he valued most highly. This newsreel shows scenes before and after the investiture ceremony.
