El Alamein

This film clip shows some of the conditions in the fighting around El Alamein between June and November 1942. The commentary expresses the pride New Zealanders felt in their fighting men's contribution to turning back Rommel's counter-offensive. The two hard-fought victories by the allies at El Alamein were the crucial turning point in the North African war.
