Story: Inheritance

Unusual will

The New Zealand film Carry me back (1982) is a comedy about a serious topic – carrying out the wishes of the deceased. Brothers Arthur and Jimmy Donovan and their father, T. K., travel up to Wellington from their South Island farm to watch a rugby match. Arthur and Jimmy find T. K. dead in his motel bed the next morning and discover that, according to his will (which he carried with him everywhere), he must be buried on the farm – if not, the property will go to the New Zealand Rugby Union. The catch is that by law, T. K. can't be buried on the farm unless he died on it, so his sons have to get him back home.
