Story: Women’s networks and clubs

Eagles Club, 1944

This 1944 newsreel describes the Eagles Club, a wartime organisation for Wellington women engaged or married to United States servicemen. Such women sometimes encountered hostility from fellow New Zealanders, so the club provided them with much-needed support as well as social opportunities.
