Whakatū freezing works redundancies

This news segment from October 1986 shows some of the fallout from redundancies at Whakatū freezing works, in Hawke’s Bay. Between 1986 and 1990 around 15,000 freezing workers lost their jobs. Māori were severely affected as they were a significant proportion of freezing workers.
