Drawing inspiration from the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) Alderston marches in Britain, in 1961 a group of local CND supporters organised an anti-nuclear march from Featherston to Wellington. The march became an annual event and this clip, probably dating from 1962 or 1963, shows the march reaching the summit of the Rimutaka hill road, while a marcher explains why she joined the protest.
