New Zealand-Australia competitions

From the 1930s, skiing competitions were held between New Zealand and Australian teams. This clip shows the winning contestant in the 1949 women’s championship. The event took place at Ruapehu in bad weather that made it more difficult than usual to complete the challenging course.
