Balancing Parliament and parenthood

Interviewed in 1980, Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan talks about the mixed reactions of her male colleagues to her pregnancy, and the challenges of balancing parenthood and a parliamentary career. 

In this photograph, she appears in her parliamentary office with her baby daughter May-Ana in 1970.
