Promoting multilingualism

New Zealand-born and Israel-based sociolinguist Bernard Spolsky has contributed significantly to language policy theory and practice. He was a strong supporter of the revival of the Māori language, and is shown in 2008 with Dame Kāterina Te Heikōkō Mataira, a strong advocate of te reo Māori. In this 2011 interview with journalist Kim Hill, Spolsky argues the case for New Zealand becoming a multilingual society.
