Murdoch tranquilliser gun

This stamp, from a 2007 New Zealand Post series called ‘Clever Kiwis’, shows the ingenious tranquilliser gun invented by a Timaru vet in the 1950s. Colin Murdoch’s invention, which can also be fired from a rifle, provides a safe and humane way to catch and treat wild animals.
